How do I care for my merino?
MACHINE WASH: Adjust any zips closed before you machine wash on wool cycle, 30˙C max. Only use a wool approved washing liquid (look for the woolmark logo) e.g. ecostore Wool & Delicates Wash.
DO NOT TUMBLE DRY, SOAK, USE POWDERS, HOT WATER, SOAPS, FABRIC SOFTENER, SPOT CLEAN OR BLEACH
NOTE: After your first 2-3 uses, we recommend that you wash the garment separately to diminish the appearance of any short fibers from the fabric i.e. pilling
Complete instructions for best results:
- Wash like colors together (e.g separate lights and darks)
- Close all zippers
- Use warm or cool machine wash on a wool cycle max 30oC
- Use WOOL liquid wash
- Do not use bleach or fabric softener under any circumstances
- Do not soak your garment
- Wash occasionally with denim (e.g. jeans with the zipper closed) or other coarse fabrics to remove any loose fibers i.e. pilling
- Do not iron prints or labels
- Line dry garments – do not tumble dry.

What weight Go Go Bag (baby sleep bag) do I need?
The first thing to consider is what is your baby's room temperature throughout the year and then you can match it to 1 or a combination of Go Go Bags (Baby Sleeping Bags).
Ideal for year round use, on holidays, for both night and day sleeps. Suitable for bedroom temperatures of 18-30°C / 64-86°F (Tog: 0.5 to 1.8)
Ideal for year round use, except in high summer. Adjust clothing layers to suit bedroom temperature from 15-20°C / 60-64.4°F (Tog: 1.4-2.5)
Ideal for use in the cooler months. Adjust clothing layers to suit bedroom temperature from 12-18°C / 53.6-64.4°F (Tog: 2.3-3.5)
Check your baby behind the neck or on the stomach to ensure they are not too warm or cold. A number of external factors determine the tog rating of the sleep bag (Go Go Bag), such as the number of layers your baby has on, your baby’s health and the temperature of their bedroom. Remember to adjust the clothing underneath your baby's sleep bag (Go Go Bag) and the weight of the baby sleep bag. The requirements may vary for different children.

What size Go Go Bag (sleep bag) do I need?
The Merino Kids Go Go Bag® (baby sleeping bags) comes in two convenient sizes:
- Baby - The BABY (3-24mth) Go Go Bag can be used from 3 months (minimum weight 3.2kgs/7lbs) by fastening the domes (poppers) under your baby's arms for about the first 6 months. It is designed to be worn until your baby's toes are touching the end of the bag. There is plenty of width and room for baby to grow into the baby sleep bag.
- Toddler - The TODDLER (2-4yr) Go Go Bag can be used from 12 months if your baby is on the tall side, again just fasten the domes (poppers) under your baby's arms. They should grow out of needing to be in a sleeping bag before they physically outgrow this size. See link here for how to transition baby from cot to bed and how the toddler sleep bag can help with this transition.
Please note: Our sizing is based on average sized babies so please take into account what growth percentile your baby is in and buy the right size for now, rather than worrying about how long it will last. We are all about safe sleep and it's important that your Go Go Bag fits and there is no danger of baby slipping into a bag that is too big. If you are not sure what size to get, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will happily make a recommendation. We also have an easy exchange policy so if you do order the wrong size, it's easy to change.
How many sleeping bags do I need?
We strongly recommend the rotation of at least two sleeping bags (depending on your baby's room temperature you may need more than 1 weight ). Over a six-month period, most children sleep on average 3,000 hours and rotating two bags enable you to keep baby in their sleep routine when you have a spare for washing etc which is particularly important in winter when drying can take longer.
Your Go Go Bag is made from all-natural fibres and is 'self-cleaning'. Simply air your Go Go Bag out over the cot or bed between sleeps. Unless it's been soiled, you only need to wash your Go Go Bag approximately every 2 weeks. Please see our washing instructions for tips on how to care for your Merino Kids products to get the most out of them.
Do I need any other bedding?
Use only a flat or fitted bottom sheet on the bassinet/cot/bed and place your baby in the Go Go Bag. This will prevent them waking up, getting out or tangled up in bedding. It is not necessary to use blankets, top sheets or duvets when using the Go Go Bag.
Why do we use a side zip?
Our Go Go Bags feature a zip that opens at the bottom for several reasons:
- To make night time nappy changes easy without having to take the whole sleep bag off!
- An opening from the bottom also means the bulky part of the zip remains at the bottom, making it more comfortable for baby
- The zip being at the bottom means it's a little more hidden from those baby 'Houdinis' mastering their escape
Why doesn't the Go Go Bag have sleeves?
This is to ensure air circulation, babies sleeping under traditional blankets rarely sleep with their arms inside the covers. We recommend layering garments to ensure your child is perfectly adapted to their environment. The best way to measure your babies temperature is to check behind their neck. So long as their core temperature is okay, arms and hands can be cooler due to poor circulation in the first 12 months.
How do I put the Go Go Bag on my baby?
Simply unzip the bag, undo the shoulder domes (poppers), and lay baby on top of bag. Insert arm through right armhole, and dome up the second shoulder. Zip bag up, and ensure that baby is sitting comfortably inside the bag before laying baby to sleep.
You can unzip the bottom of the bag for nappy changes without taking the bag off the baby. Handy for those midnight nappy changes.
How do I put my baby in the Cocooi Babywrap?
The Cocooi® Babywrap (swaddle) makes it easy to swaddle your baby quickly, gently and securely:
- Simply place baby's feet inside foot pouch
- Secure the two shoulder snaps
- Wrap the short wing down over baby’s left shoulder and left arm, across and under baby
- Bring right arm down, wrap the long wing down over baby’s right shoulder and around baby twice
- Tuck it in and baby will be snug and secure inside their Cocooi Babywrap!
What is a TOG rating?
The British "TOG" value is the international standard measurement of all blankets' thermal effectiveness (how well it keeps you warm). The TOG rating describes the warmth or ‘Thermal Resistance’ of a fabric, and is widely used in the UK to describe warmth levels of duvets and sleeping bags.
The unique temperature control qualities of merino mean that our Go Go Bags (baby sleep bags) cover a range of TOG ratings. e.g. the standard weight Go Go Bag gives a 0.5 TOG rating when the room temperature is 30 degrees but as the temperature decreases to 18 degrees, the TOG rating becomes 1.8.
Merino Kids Go Go Bags (baby sleep bags) have been TOG tested to comply with the new British Standard BS 8510:2009 and we print the average TOG rating result on our Go Go Bags rather than the range. This has been approved by the British Standards Authority.
Please refer to our baby sleeping bag temperature guide for what weight Go Go Bag (baby sleep bag) to use in what room temperature with what layers of clothing. Please keep in mind the baby's room temperature, not the season.
My baby has sensitive skin / eczema
Superfine merino can help REDUCE ECZEMA because of its ability to readily release moisture means NO CLAMMINESS next to the skin, creating a perfect micro-climate around the body.
The Murdoch Children’s Research Institute have conducted a clinical trial where researchers found when children switched to superfine merino wool after wearing cotton, they showed a significant decrease in eczema severity whereas eczema worsened when those wore superfine merino wool changed to cotton.
